Following the 15 minute Zoom meeting, providing you wish to begin your therapeutic journey a first session can be booked at a time that is convenient for both parent/s and child.

During the Zoom meeting parent/s will be given the opportunity to express their concerns from their perspective.

If you all agree that I am a 'good match' a parental consent form will be completed prior to a first session with the client.

During the first session both client and counsellor will complete a counselling agreement  which outlines expectations and boundaries of the therapeutic relationship.

How many sessions will be needed?

I appreciate that you may be looking for an exact number however, there is no real answer to this question as this will depend on presenting issues, It takes time to learn the skills and knowledge to feel better.

How will I know when to end my sessions?

I will use different assessments during our time together this  will measure your progress. Or it may be that you would like a set amount of sessions; this can be discussed with yourself and  parent/carer during our consultation.

You may also begin to feel the benefits of coming to your session and want to discuss when the time is right for you to work towards ending our therapeutic journey.

Does my parent/carer come along to my session?

Generally it would be just yourself. However, I will always keep parent/carer informed of how the  sessions are going.
